Kanonkop Estate Cabernet 2010 & 2020

This 2010 cabernet sauvignon is really hitting its stride and is in an absolutely gorgeous place for drinking now and in the next few years. This is rich and engagingly complex in its maturity, with a deeply savoury, almost salty core, and flavours of ripe blackberry, dried black plums, tobacco leaf, cinnamon and clove spice. The tannins are sumptuous in feel, enveloping the palate, and the acidity is bright and still zesty, a clear indication of the ageworthiness - and pedigree - of this wine. It's a real treat to be able to offer a parcel of this to members.

A darkly-fruited and brambly cabernet sauvignon, with cedar spice from new French oak brilliantly integrated into the intense blackcurrant and blackberry flavours. The 2020 is powerful and ripe, with the rich fruit expression effortlessly balanced by the signature freshness of Kanonkop. While structured to age, the tannins are already approachable and velvety in texture, making this delicious now, but it's still worth a decant.
