OMAGY All You Need is Loew, Domaine Loew 2022

5.000000000 star rating 1 Reviews
Domaine Loew was set up as recently as 1996 by Etienne Loew and the estate remains small at just over six hectares. They are pushing the boundaries in terms of Alsace expression with this orange wine made exclusively from gewurztraminer. The wine sees eight days of skin maceration which contributes to its floral and aromatic profile. Orange peel, ripe stone fruits and hints of ginger with an attractive phenolic grip on the palate.

This wine is delicious joy in a glass, with its burst of nectarine, blood orange, quince and red apple layered with sage, saffron and jasmine. Produced from Gewürztraminer grapes that macerate for 10 days and bottled unfiltered and with no added sulphites. Lovely length with a tingling spicy tail. Fleshy. moreish, naughty. Yum.

Very definitely orange! The colour of an African sunset. Really intense on thenose – dessert-wine-like intensity and concentration. Cooked apricots, irisflowers, sotolon, hibiscus tea. The mouth-watering, bone-jangling smell-tasteof rain on terracotta dust aroma. Fine-ground ginger. Stratified to stone, fruit, flower, spice. Tannic but not astringent. Worth giving this a bit of air and notserving it fridge cold. Brilliant with kimchi lamb bibimbap. JancisRobinson.com
