Online - Meet the Winemaker: Claudia Schug
Schug Carneros Estate Winery in Sonoma, California is a family-owned winery with a 100-year heritage that excels in producing outstanding pinot noir. Recently celebrating the 40th anniversary of their first vintage, the style is modern European, enabled in part by their location in the cool-climate, wind-swept Carneros hills of Sonoma and the dynamic winemaking of Johannes Scheid.
We’re delighted to have welcomed their pinot noir to our range over the past year and to now hear from Claudia in this Zoom event.
We will be launching Claudia’s wine in early November.
Anna Spooner is the Tastings and Events Co-Ordinator at The Wine Society. She joined the team in 2018 after working at The West London Wine School as a wine tutor and loves to bring her passion for wine education to our members. She completed her WSET Diploma in 2021.
Now one of our most popular offerings, these events are designed to give members an insight into wineries by hearing from those on the ground. Often there will be wines to compliment the event, though buying these wines is not compulsory to attend or enjoy the event, and these sessions can be watched with a cup of tea if you would prefer!
