Online - 'Sipsize' - The Big 5: An Introduction to Merlot
This week we’re exploring one of the most prolific and widely grown grapes in the world – merlot.
Anna will cover the origins of merlot, in particular its home turf of Bordeaux, where it is blended to make some of the most famous and expensive wines in the world. We’ll then be zooming around the globe discovering the array of friendly and drinkable expressions that make this grape so universally popular.
The three wines that Anna will be using in the session will be released on 26th August. You’re welcome to buy one, two or all three; or simply join with a cup of tea!
Anna Spooner is the Tastings and Events Co-Ordinator at The Wine Society. She joined the team in 2018 after working at The West London Wine School as a wine tutor and loves to bring her passion for wine education to our members. She completed her WSET Diploma in 2021.
