It’s time to explore the wine world’s most misjudged and oft mispronounced grape variety, riesling (or 'reece-ling' rather than ‘rye-sling’). Avoided by too many but considered by others as the finest white grape in the world, this session will dispel some myths and help any doubting members to appreciate its multifaceted beauty.

Anna will explain the character of riesling, its ‘transparent’ ability to communicate where its grown (or ‘terroir’), and the myriad of styles it can produce. We’ll begin in Germany, where the grape is most famous, before exploring other exciting new homes for the variety, such Australia and Austria.

The three wines that Anna will be using in the session will be released on 26th August. You’re welcome to buy one, two or all three; or simply join with a cup of tea!
