The Society's Exhibition Languedoc, La Clape 2023
Red Wine from France - Languedoc
Situated on the edge of the Mediterranean, La Clape is a unique sub region of the Languedoc. Its microclimate is markedly cooler than the surrounding country, with sea breezes lending its wines freshness. Château d’Anglès is one of the top estates here, leading the way in sustainably minded vineyard practices. From syrah and grenache, with 20% mourvèdre adding a spicy edge, this is generous and ripe, with black fruit, pepper and liquorice. Eric Fabre used to be technical director at Lafite and much of the same attention to detail was applied to this classic Languedoc blend.
