Wines included

2026 - 2027

Syrah-Viognier L'Orangeraie, Pays d'Oc, Lorgeril 2024

As they often do in the Rhône, a little white viognier is fermented together with syrah and the formula works really well, the viognier rounding off vigorous dark-fruit flavours of the syrah.

France £9.75 per bottle
2025 - 2027

Pisano Viña Barrancal Progreso Tannat 2025

Ripe yet fresh tannat, with bright blackberry fruit on the palate and mild tannins. Fermented and matured in tank to capture the fruit. Each year buyer Toby Morrhall blends this wine with Pisano's winemakers, Gustavo and Gabriel Pisano, aiming to produce a good introduction to Uruguayan tannat, with the accent on fruit, with a certain mild blackberry grip but avoiding dry tannins. For a more structured wine try Pisano Don Francesco Founders Gran Reserve Progreso Tannat 2025.

Uruguay £10.50 per bottle
2026 - 2029

Evaristo Tinto, Lisboa 2024

A bright, ruby-coloured red with an immediately inviting nose of ripe cherries, juicy raspberries and blackcurrant. The palate is supple and balanced, with plush tannins giving a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. The blend is led by around half touriga nacional, supported by other native Portuguese varieties alongside syrah and a smaller portion of Alicante Bouschet, combining freshness, ripeness and approachability. It may have some of the worst back label blurb you'll ever read but the wine in the bottle is an unpretentious, easy-going bargain.

Portugal £8.75 per bottle
2026 - 2028

Eguíluz Joven, Ábalos Rioja 2025

This is not Rioja as you know it! Made with carbonic maceration, the same way as Beaujolais, and with no oak, it was hailed as ‘one of the wines of the 2026 Wine Champions tasting’ for its ‘pure violets and blueberries’ and ‘perfumed energy.’ A beautiful new arrival that announced itself in style.

Spain £10.50 per bottle
2026 - 2028

Barbera d'Asti,Manfredi 2025

Barbera d'Asti,Manfredi 2025

Italy £8.95 per bottle
2026 - 2028

Vida Tündértánc, Vida Péter NV

A juicy red from a highly regarded Szekszárd estate from Hungary. The region is a series of valleys and the estate is made up of over 30 hectares, primarily focused on indigenous varieties. This is a kékfrankos and merlot blend that is aged in a mix of stainless steel and large barrels for 12 months. Wonderful red-berry perfume combined with plenty of spice and a juicy core.
