£40 gets them a lifetime membership to The Wine Society, and will make them part of an organisation that is unique in the world of wine: because we have no external shareholders to please, we’re able to put profits back into fairer bottle prices for both our members and the talented winemakers who craft them, so your loved one will get real value in every bottle.

Four reasons to buy a gift membership

  1. Wine they'll love - our buyers source wine on quality alone, so you know you're getting a great deal. And if you don't like a bottle, we'll give you a refund – it's as simple as that.
  2. So much choice - from £5.95 anyday favourites, to £50+ fine wine, we've got a bottle for any occasion.
  3. £20 off their first order - to get them started, with no minimum spend and no catch. What wine would you recommend first?
  4. A range of delivery options - from next-day and free name-the-day delivery options to click and collect.

You will have the choice to deliver your gift membership voucher straight to your wine-loving friend by email or post, or you can choose to send it to yourself to pass along at the appropriate time.

"One of the best presents you can give a wine-lover is membership of The Wine Society which scours the globe for well-made wines at all price points. The range and the value are terrific, delivery is country-wide and there are regular tastings. Membership costs £40, but lasts a lifetime."

Frequently asked questions

Buying a gift membership entitles the recipient to a lifetime membership of The Wine Society. We’ll let them know that they’ve been bought membership and details on how to claim it. We’ll either send them the information through the post or by email, whichever you prefer, and once they’ve redeemed their membership, we’ll send them a welcome pack and share certificate.

Like all new members, they’ll be given £20 to spend on their first order, as well as free delivery on six bottles or more for their first six months of membership.

If you choose for the gift to be sent to them by email (or request it to be sent to your own email address to pass on to them), it will be sent within an hour.
If you choose for the gift to be delivered by post, then their welcome pack should be with them within six working days.

Due to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) laws, new members need to sign up for membership themselves. There is no extra payment to be made by them; we just require them to give us their information and consent to become a member.

Yes. The gift recipient will have a year from the date the membership is purchased to redeem it.

Whilst we very much hope that membership of The Wine Society would be a welcome gift for any wine lover, recipients who do not wish to claim their membership can pass it on to someone else to use. Unfortunately, the membership can’t be exchanged for cash or wine to the same value.

In this case, the recipient can choose to either pass the gift onto someone else to redeem for membership, or they can take the value of the gift as a credit on their share to spend on wine or events.
