Is there a handling fee to withdraw wines from Members’ Reserves?
On a trial basis (to be reviewed in October 2021), we will not charge a handling fee for part-case withdrawals from Members’ Reserves, meaning members can withdraw any quantity of wines from their Reserves, with the exception of pre-mixed and member-mixed cases which must be withdrawn as a full case.
The trial period will allow us to monitor the impact on our operations and understand the level of demand from members. Depending on uptake, please note that delivery times for Reserves withdrawals may be slightly longer than usual. We cannot rule out having to introduce a handling charge in the future for removals of small quantities from Reserves, but any such changes would be made with at least two weeks’ notice.
When is the end of the trial period?
We will review the trial in October 2021. With the busy Christmas period ahead, when a lot of members use this service, we will need to make sure that demand from members remains manageable. We will give members at least two weeks’ notice of any subsequent changes.
Are you still considering a handling fee for withdrawals that are currently free?
No – it is not our intention to charge for withdrawal combinations that are currently free.
Will the per case charge increase because of this change?
No – storage will remain at £9.24 including VAT per case per year. We review this charge every two years and any increase will be based on inflation and our desire to offer the best value for members.
Are you changing the rules about what wines can be placed in Members’ Reserves?
No – the existing rules apply.
Can I remove individual bottles from pre-packed mixed cases or mixed cases that I made up myself?
As currently, it will not be possible to remove individual bottles from pre-packed mixed cases or mixed cases you have made up yourself. These will still need to be withdrawn as they were put into Reserves.
