‘Dujac’ stands for Domaine Du Jacques Seysses, who began making wines in 1968 and has now handed over to his two sons. Jeremy looks after winemaking and Alec looks after sales. They are advocates of whole bunch fermentation which moderates extraction and extracts aromatic compounds which transform into floral aromas with bottle age. The wines are aged in relatively new oak for 14 to 16 months.

2024 Vintage Overview
Transparent, fine-boned, balanced wines with aromatic purity and perfume
After a number of very hot, sunny years and rich, thick textured and opulent wines, 2024 has produced bright and fresh wines with light to medium body, pure aromas, just ripe flavours (meant positively), medium alcohol levels, with typical, classical, pre global warming Burgundian aromas and flavours. The very small crop, about half of a normal year, allowed the grapes to attain satisfactory ripeness.
Dujac’s 2024 harvest and vinification
Dujac harvested later than some between 19 and 25th September, allowing 100 days from flowering which helped flavour ripeness. The grapes were picked at 12.3 to 12.7% potential alcohol and were chaptalized half a degree or so. A considerable amount of hens and chickens (millerandage), berries which remain small following an imperfect fertilisation, was beneficial for quality as the small surface area of the berries improves colour and structure and reduces yields which were 18.5hl/ha. They used between 60-100% whole bunch fermentation.
