Eminently classy 100% chardonnay from one of the finest producers of the style in England. Having spent just over six years on the yeast lees and been disgorged in February this year, the wine shows exceptional poise and concentration, with the trademark English acid-line streaking like an arrow through the concentrated, delicate, yet opulent palate. Three per cent of the wine was fermented in new French oak, giving a touch of spice, but the purity and precision of the fruit is the star here. Drink this year to 2041. 12%
