Vignoble des Cabottes, Meursault Premier Cru Genevrières 2023

Code: BU95681
White
Made from two parcels of vines, extending to 1.8ha on the higher part of the vineyard. The higher one gives wines with more tension and freshness and the lower one offers a more honeyed nose and rounder palate. Round and rich quintessential Meursault nose. Broad and ample on the palate on entry which then narrows to a fine, fresh and taut finish. Well balanced. Drink from 2028 to 2035. 13%

Vignoble des Cabottes, Montrachet Grand Cru 2023

Code: BU95711
White
Made from a 0.89 ha parcel in the middle of the vineyard running from top to bottom. The marl soil, a mixture of limestone and clay, lends the wine finesse from the limestone and power from the clay, and overlays a limestone subsoil. This is rich yet very closed on the nose. The palate is firm and dense with an astonishing concentration and power. Presently one perceives only a fraction of its size and potential, like the tip of an iceberg, the rest is hidden below the waterline. It takes a decade to begin to reveal its myriad complexity and opulence. A great wine. Drink from 2033 to 2042. 13%

Vignoble des Cabottes, Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru Lavières 2023

Code: BU95721
Red
Savigny lies in a cool valley, on average 1.2°C lower in temperature than Beaune. The 4ha parcel has clay over limestone “laves”, which have a resemblance to flagstones. Intense, perky red fruit on the nose and a fresh, linear palate with elegance and verve. 40% whole bunch. Drink from 2028 to 2035. 14%
£117.00 Case of 3 (£52.00/litre)

Vignoble des Cabottes, Volnay Premier Cru Caillerets Ancienne Cuvée Carnot 2023

Code: BU95751
Red
This 3ha vineyard was acquired in 1886 when Joseph, the sixth generation of the Bouchard family, married a Mademoiselle Carnot. Caillerets is perhaps the greatest and silkiest of all Volnays, with a gentle palate, light in tannin but long in flavour. Situated mid slope on shallow, 40cm, limestone soil. A wine of great finesse and elegance. Black cherry fruit. Silky, polished tannins glide over the palate frictionlessly. Graceful, understated and seemingly delicate yet has incredible length of flavour. 33% whole bunch. Drink from 2029 to 2039. 13.5%
£213.00 Case of 3 (£94.67/litre)

Vignoble des Cabottes, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2023

Code: BU95701
White
Remarkable 2.33ha holding, the biggest in the appellation, which they subdivide into four terraces which go from the top to the bottom of the vineyard, with more soil at the bottom and outcropping of the limestone subsoil at the top. This is perhaps one of the most complete expressions of Chevalier. Pure, crystalline wine which crackles with energy, a bright minerality and very long and linear palate. Exquisite. Drink from 2029 to 2039. 13%
£1,245.00 Case of 3 (£553.33/litre)

Vignoble des Cabottes, Beaune Premier Cru Teurons 2023

Code: BU95731
Red
Made from a 1.4ha east facing slope on a soil high in limestone. Pretty floral nose, fine boned palate with excellent length of flavour. 40% whole bunch. Drink from 2028 to 2036. 13%
£135.00 Case of 3 (£60.00/litre)

Vignoble des Cabottes, Corton Le Corton Grand Cru 2023

Code: BU95761
Red
From a cool, high altitude site at about 240m on a soil high in limestone, it ripens late, ideal in the warm 2023 vintage. Lovely vivid red fruit with a floral element from 50% whole bunch fermentation. An elegant and pretty example of the appellation, fine-boned palate with a light framing of tannins. Drink from 2030 to 2040. 13.5%
£330.00 Case of 3 (£146.67/litre)

Vignoble des Cabottes, Corton-Charlemagne 2023

Code: BU95691
White
From a very high-altitude vineyard, just below the wood which crowns the hill of Corton. It faces east, with a marl soil and limestone subsoil. A fresh citrus and mineral nose leads to a firm, fine and tensile palate with a long finish. A very refined white Burgundy. Drink from 2029 to 2037. 13.5%
£594.00 Case of 3 (£264.00/litre)

Vignoble des Cabottes Beaune, Premier Cru Clos de la Mousse Monopole 2023

Code: BU95741
Red
A 3.36ha walled vineyard or clos which is a monopole, owned in its entirety, and it was originally bought by Bouchard Père in 1872. It has deeper soil than Teurons with clay at the surface but a limestone subsoil. It does not suffer from water stress. Rich, black fruit on the nose. The palate is currently quite firm and structured with the extra weight derived from the clay soil. Needs time to come together. 30% whole bunch. Drink from 2027 to 2037. 13.5%
