Composed of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec and petit verdot from original 1969 plantings, this vintage shows a generosity and precision on the nose, with layers of blackcurrant, plum and cassis alongside notes of bay leaf, cedar, dried rose petal and a subtle hint of cocoa. The palate has clarity and drive, with ripe yet measured fruit wrapped in fine, tightly woven tannins. There’s a gentle earthy thread and a lift of cool-climate acidity that brings shape and balance. The oak is beautifully integrated, supporting rather than overshadowing the fruit. This is a confident and expressive vintage that highlights the class of the vineyard and the skill in the cellar.
