3-Litre Box of Côtes de Gascogne Tariquet Classic 2022

White Wine from France - SW France (excl. Bordeaux)

Vibrant, fruity white for south-west France that is deliciously light and refreshing. Pierre Grassa laid the foundations for what is now the largest independent wine estate in France, but his son Yves’ stroke of genius was to repurpose grapes destined for Armagnac distillation into delicious table wine like this. Brothers Rémi and Armin Grassa have huge vineyard resources with which to invent and delight.

The Times

Perky, ugni blanc-based Gascon white from the wine-growing Grassa family, with all the crisp, zingy lime and lemon zest fruit of the bottled version.

Best boxed wine for a seafood snack: From a wine-growing area that’s sometimes referred to as the Tuscany of France, comes a crisp, aromatic white that’s rich in flavour but low in alcohol. It’s a blend of three grapes that are well known – columbard, ugni blanc (more familiar under its Italian name trebbiano) and sauvignon – along with one which is less common, gros manseng, an indigenous grape in this area of southwest France. Blended together they provide a wine that’s oak free, fresh and thirst-quenching. Enjoy it chilled as an aperitif or with seafood, sushi, risottos or any grilled fish dishes.
