White Wine from South Africa - Coastal Region
This revitalising, refreshing white blend comprises 87% chenin and 13% viognier, all fermented and aged in concrete and stainless steel. It has expressive yellow fruit, with a tangy apple character on the palate and a stony minerality on the finish. Anne Faure Wines is a new label from Jeanine and Mick Craven, who have built up a wonderful reputation for authentic, site-specific wines from Stellenbosch. Anne Faure represents a departure, however, in that in these wines they are blending sites and grape varieties for the first time - and the result is terrific. The fruit comes from Stellenbosch vineyards they have worked with for years, from excellent growers, and the wine seriously overdelivers at this price point.
