Château Ponzac has vines both down by the Lot river and on top of the limestone plateau, and makes different wines from each. This 100% malbec cuvée, with its refined, fresh blackberry fruit, does not need keeping and is delicious now. This wine makes a pleasant counterpoint to the traditional, more structured, wines of Cahors.
