Known as cannonau in Sardinia this grenache has a pure red-plum, strawberry and wild-herb perfume. It is juicy on the palate with supple tannins and summer-fruit compôte flavours that last well on the fresh, lightly peppery finish. A lovely and characterful medium-bodied Italian red, that pairs very well, if chilled a little, with richer seafood dishes, as well as classic like roast pork.
