Château Ordonnat, Graves 2022

3.000000000 star rating 1 Reviews
A medium-bodied blend of 40% cabernet sauvignon and 60% merlot from a fine property in the commune of Langon. With pure fruit and ripe tannins this is a deliciously drinkable Graves at a very fair price.

Château Ordonnat

Alain Bélis and his son run this family-owned estate in Graves south-east of Bordeaux, where glacier-deposited gravels gave the appellation its name. Plantings of 60% merlot and 40% cabernet sauvignon thrive in the well-drained, warmth-retaining soils. Alain has been in charge since the 1970s and knows his 12-hectares inside out.

The Mail on Sunday

This is a fresh and modern style, with medium body. Its mixed forest berries and pinch of spice on the finish – all for under £10 – will convert anyone into a Bordeaux fan.
