Clos de Luz, Jaya Carmenère 2024
Red Wine from Chile - Rapel
Ripe yet fresh, plummy carmenère with a hint of black pepper from a top producer in the Almahue Valley. Silky and seductive palate. Made from Cuartel El Roble, a steep north west facing vineyard. This cool exposition protects the vines from the summer heat. It was planted in 2003 with an old, ungrafted Almahue massale selection of carmenère at a density of 5,000 vines/ha. It is named Jaya after a vineyard worker who has worked for the family for three generations. It is aged in 500l barrels to capture the freshness.
