Dobre Modre, Kamil Barczentewicz 2022

3.500000000 star rating 2 Reviews
Kamil Barczentewicz is part of the new generation of winemakers in Poland making their mark. Only 12 hectares in south east Poland on limestone slopes, he began making wine in 2017 and is starting to get recognition for his bright, pure and well-balanced wines. This blaufränkisch goes through spontaneous fermentation and is aged in a mix of barrels and stainless steel. Bright, crisp and wild-flower florals and raspberry notes with hints of pepper. Light-bodied and fresh and only 11%.

This year I’ve tasted compelling wines from Poland, Moldova, Armenia, Romania and Bulgaria. Try the berry and plum-infused 2022 Kamil Barczentewicz Pinot Noir from Poland.

Bight garnet. Truly varietal, with excellent acidity, structure and ageing potential. But I think you probably need to know Blaufränkisch before understanding this wine. JancisRobinson.com
