Emiliana Coyam, Los Robles Estate D.O. Colchagua 2021

0 star rating 0 Reviews
One of the best vintages of Coyam, from a cool year which produced finer and more intensely aromatic wines. Ripe and plummy nose, with concentrated black fruit from the syrah and cedar and spice from the carmenère. Powerful, richly flavoured, complex palate which is firm and fresh tasting. It is a blend of 37% syrah, 36% carmenère, 6% carignan, 5% grenache, 5% cabernet sauvignon, 4% mourvèdre, 3% petit verdot, 3% malbec and 1% tempranillo that has been matured for 18 months, 75% in 228-litre French oak barriques, 15% in 600-litre foudres and 10% in concrete eggs. It comes from the organic Los Robles estate, a pretty horseshoe-shaped vineyard surrounded by hillsides with native forests. The vineyard is planted on a south-facing slope, the cooler exposition in South America, on decomposed granite soils of low fertility. Planting was principally made between 1992 and 2000.
