Exhibition Gigondas Vertical Case

Château Saint Cosme’s Louis Barruol is one of the most well-known winemakers in Gigondas, instrumental in putting this region on the map. Our longstanding relationship with this star grower has led to us having access to some of the most interesting vineyard sites in Gigondas, creating this exclusive blend with him. 2019 is a superb vintage in this part of the Rhône. Every year the aim is to make a wine that offers great value but which also has the ability to age. It is fantastic to be able to keep hold of our wines and release them when they’re ready to drink, with the 2019 being offered to our members now with seven years’ ageing under its belt.

The Exhibition Gigondas was blended and aged in barrel by Louis Barruol of the celebrated Saint-Cosme estate. Long and concentrated and satisfyingly full-bodied, with plums and spice, the 2020 vintage is one of the Rhône's finest where everything is in balance. A generous red with a long spicy finish.

This is about a blending session which is attempted each year in a cellar space beneath Saint-Cosme. Elements are brought together by Louis Barruol, owner of Saint Cosme, and together we seek to define a balanced blend. This is full, fruity with spice and a touch of mountain freshness

Our Exhibition Gigondas was blended and aged in barrel by Louis Barruol of the celebrated Saint-Cosme estate. The 2023 vintage was challenging with hail and an August heatwave, yet the wines are charming with great perfume and silky, ripe tannins. There is liquorice and spice with brambles and cherry notes, with wonderful balance and freshness.

Louis describes 2024 as a vintage not to miss, producing beautifully textured wines that display the balance of slightly cooler vintage compared to 2022 and 2023. The Gigondas is full of brambles, garrigue and spice with a juicy core and vibrant acidity.
