Red Wine from Spain - Castilla y Leon
An extraordinary Spanish red from 50 to 100 year old vineyards on the edge of Bierzo. A masterful blend of mencía, prieto picudo and alicante bouschet, it is both elegant and intense, offering layered aromas of cedar, spice and dark fruit. Beautifully structured, this is a mencía of real depth, with the 2021 vintage showing a brighter red-fruit profile. Fine, velvety tannins carry through to a finish that is fresh, sappy and juicy, with a tapering finish.
