California Vintage 2009
An excellent vintage in California. Most fruit was in by the time that late October rains arrived and a steady growing season, spurred on by a heat spike late on, brought in a good crop of splendidly ripe, healthy fruit. Everywhere reported good quality and so it has proved in the wines where there is opulent fruit with excellent structure. A touch of coolness on the Central Coast meant a slow maturation that was the catalyst for intense fruit flavours and balance in the wines.
