I am thrilled to be able to offer the new vintage releases from two star German growers from the Nahe and Rheinhessen, Weingut Dönnhoff and Gunderloch. This selection is primarily from the 2025 vintage, which so far has been highly praised by growers, yet limited in volume, but we also have some wines from the classic and cool 2024 vintage.

Both estates have seen a new vigour in recent years having been taken over by the younger generation, Johannes Hasselbach at Weingut Gunderloch and Cornelius Dönnhoff. These family estates continue to push the boundaries, which allows them to remain at the top of their game and produce rieslings with precision and energy.
Following the frost in 2024 causing devastating losses of 80% at Dönnhoff, the volumes in 2025 are more positive. It was important to be present in the vineyard to be able to manage the long periods of sunshine followed by heavy rainfall and those who showed attention to detail and careful selection in the vineyard were rewarded. The wines show elegance and vibrancy, with immediate appeal but will surely age for many years to come. The 2024s are racy, precise and offer a classic style of riesling that should not be missed.
I am always amazed by how reasonably priced wines from some of the best and most prized vineyards in Germany can offer so much value and most importantly pleasure. I would thoroughly recommend the wines from these growers.
