This south-facing vineyard site on steep slope of gravel and clay soil is a warm one that often brings generosity and concentration. Bone dry in style, the 2025 vintage displays a juiciness with orange peel, red apple and ginger spice combined with a flinty, white pepper profile on the palate of long length that highlights this wine's quality. Drink this year to 2036. 12%

The Höllenpfad vineyard, meaning 'path to hell', references the steep slopes and the red sandstone soils. It is hard work to manage this steep site in the Nahe, but the resulting wine is surely worth it., showing so much potential and innate quality with a flinty, saline and lime juice quality. There is so much going on in the glass with an underlying steeliness and precision that also gives a slightly austere character. If you like a very precise and tightly wound riesling, this one is for you. You will be rewarded by leaving this wine a few years. Drink from 2028 to 2040. 12.5%

From the loess-rich soils with small quartzite pebbles of the Krötenpfuhl, a warm vineyard site with a southern exposition. This is a benchmark Kabinett from a delightful vintage, displaying honeysuckle, peach and orange zest combined with a lightness of touch on the palate and a blossom and stony quality on the finish. Drink this year to 2036. 9%

From one of Germany's great estates in the Rheinhessen, this Grand Cru site is located on the steep red-slate soils of the Roter Hang between Nierstein and Nackenheim overlooking the Rhine. It is a relatively warm site that is protected by the terraces of the of the Pettenthal. Low yields produces a wine with amazing concentration and length. 2024 is a classic vintage showing great precision and energy. A cool vintage that displays a steeliness and a saline quality with orange peel, jasmine and white pepper spice. Currently quite tightly wound and would benefit from decanting or cellaring for a couple of years. Drink from 2028 to 2042. 12%

Sourced from 50-year-old vines in the village of Norheim, Kirschheck is a steep south-facing grey-clay slate vineyard producing nervy and energetic rieslings. This is a stunning wine in 2025 with a generosity and weight that is balanced to perfection with a racy acidity to counterbalance the sweetness. Ginger, apricot, hints of fresh mango and fleshy peach and a finish keeps on going! Drink from 2028 to 2040. 8.5%

From the estate's oldest vineyard site, the Leistenberg's grey slate and steep south-eastern slopes produce outstanding rieslings that are delicious immediately but certainly have ageing potential. This wine is full of ginger, wet stone, peach and white florals. Mineral-driven and precise Kabinett with racy acidity. Drink this year to 2033. 9%

The grapes come from the famous Roter Hang slope with its iron rich, red soils. From a highly regarded Rheinhessen estate, with high-quality vineyards including Rothenberg, Pettenthal and Hipping, producing a mineral and concentrated riesling. 2025 is a sensational vintage offering so much promise, but in the short and long term. This bone dry riesling displays a lime and orange blossom note combined with a tangerine and grapefruit pith note on the palate. Drink this year to 2036. 12.5%

From specific sites on the famous Roter Hang slopes, including the Rothenberg, Pettenthal and Hipping vineyards, this is regularly my wine of the line up from this highly regarded Rheinhessen grower. Complex soils of red slate, clay and limestone help to achieve minerality and concentration in this dry style of riesling. 2024 is a cooler vintage that has produced a wine full of salinity and steely notes, yet that has a restrained concentration delivering orange peel, honeysuckle and pink grapefruit. This is an exceptional riesling that is precise and utterly delicious. Drink from 2027 to 2040. 12%

The grapes for this wine come almost exclusively from the Oberhäuser Leistenberg vineyard, which is a cool valley site. This is a bone-dry riesling that offers incredible value for the money. The palate offers citrus peel, jasmine, fleshy peach and white pepper spice with a wonderful balance thanks to zesty acidity and vibrancy on the finish. Drink this year to 2034. 12%
