Heinrich Pannobile, Burgenland 2014
The 2014 Heinrich Pannobile is a blend of 55% zweigelt and 45% blaufränkisch, two of Austria’s most important red grapes. The wine opens with a seductive nose of dark cherries, blackberries, and plums, intertwined with notes of violets, black pepper, tobacco, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, it is elegant yet structured, with fine-grained tannins, a lively acidity, and a distinct minerality that speaks to its origin. The finish is long and complex, with lingering hints of spice and dark fruit. A perfect match for grilled meats, game, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses. This is nicely mature and in a perfect place for drinking now.
