Phos Aglianico, Roccamonfina, I Cacciagalli 2021

Red Wine from Italy - Campania
0 star rating 0 Reviews
This wonderful aglianico from the slopes of the now extinct volcano Roccamonfina in Campania is produced using biodynamic farming methods and is aged in terracotta amphorae with macerations on skins for seven or eight months. This has given the wine an added complexity with a savoury note throughout as well as very well managed tannins. Deep in colour, it has the classic rich cherry and black fruit of aglianico with layers of spice, fennel and aromatic herbs that last well on the long finish.
