Lingua Franca Avni Pinot Noir 2022

Lingua Franca was co-founded by Larry Stone and Dominique Lafon in 2015. With Thomas Savre, who has experience at some of Burgundy's top domaines, at the helm of the farming and winemaking, you can expect wines with a Burgundian attention to terroir detail, with restraint, finesse and transparency, but with an Oregon soul. In fact, Avni means 'stone' and Lingua Franca regard it a signature of Willamette Valley's volcanic geology. This pinot noir shows lovely brightness of black cherry fruit, with a twist of vanilla spice, and notes of pine and wild herbs. There is so much freshness here, fine tannins, and a moreish salty finish. A nimble, medium-bodied pinot which is drinking beautifully now.
