Massif d Uchaux Grand Reserve, Château Saint Estève 2020
Red Wine from France - Rhone
This is made from a grenache and syrah blend, roughly 60% grenache and 40% syrah. Full-flavoured, full-bodied and ripe tasting yet dominated by rich fruit flavours. The amount of oak used is minimal and subtle. The wine is primarily matured in vats rather than new barrels, meaning any oak influence serves as light structural support without overpowering the wine.

Château Saint-Estève
This was one of the first estates in this part of France to bottle its own wines in the 1960s. The extensive, organically certified vineyards border on the Massif d'Uchaux, a large and heavily wooded range of hills that border the left bank of the Rhône north of Orange.
Constant cool breezes create a definite microclimate here and perfect conditions for ripening grapes, especially grenache and syrah. A few years ago this was officially recognised with the creation of a new villages appellation, Massif d'Uchaux. Saint-Estève reserve this for their top wines.
