The Les Cras vineyard is high in limestone (Cras means chalk or limestone) and was planted about 60 years ago. This 2020 vintage wine is unusually fresh, firm fleshed wine for the Mâconnais. Palate has impressive grip and tension. Drinking beautifully now. Matured for 18 months in 228l barrels, 10% new. Olivier Merlin is the best grower in Mâcon La Roche Vineuse and runs his 20 ha domaine with his wife Corinne and sons Théo and Paul.
