Merlin, Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Les Cras 2023
White Wine from France - Burgundy
The Les Cras vineyard is high in limestone (Cras means chalk or limestone) and was planted about 60 years ago. Here the house style for rich wines is tempered by a certain freshness and minerality derived from the limestone soil. The melony fruit is underscored with a seam of freshness. 18 months maturation in 228l barrels. Olivier Merlin is the best grower in Mâcon La Roche Vineuse and runs his 20 ha domaine with his wife Corinne and sons Théo and Paul.
