A fine Loire chenin in worthy tribute to the late owner, Jacky Blot. From a single-vineyard 'monopole', this is a stimulating, silky, dry barrel-fermented wine, with food-friendly salinity, concentration and great length. Domaine de La Taille Aux Loups focuses on the chenin blanc grape and is now in the very capable hands of Jacky’s son, Jean-Philippe. He's had had more than a decade’s experience as winemaker at what his father had made into arguably the best property in the Montlouis appellation. The 45-hectare estate is planted only with chenin blanc and this single-vineyard example comes from old vines on a south-facing slope with limestone not far beneath the surface of the sand-clay soil.
