One of the star chenins in our 2026 Wine Champions blind tastings, where its ‘precision, toastiness, saline acidity, appealing hint of oak and great texture’ were all singled out for praise. From a single-vineyard 'monopole', this is a stimulating, silky, dry barrel-fermented wine, with food-friendly salinity, concentration and great length. This 45-hectare estate is planted only with chenin blanc and this single-vineyard example comes from old vines on a south-facing slope with limestone not far beneath the surface of the sand-clay soil.
