Muscadet ‘Chemin des Prières’, Domaine Huchet 2025
White Wine from France - Loire
The warm 2025 vintage brought a little extra flesh and richness to this cuvée that shows great tension and minerality from a combination of granitic soils and early harvesting. The charming label drawn by Jérémie's son Antoine tells the story behind this fine muscadet, historically grown organically in the cooler granite-based soils at his family domaine La Chauvinière in the commune of Château-Thébaud. Due to the difficult 2024 vintage where yields were unsustainable, he's keeping 30-40% of his vines under organic viticulture but has returned to conventional for the remainder. Mineral freshness, white flowers, citrus and salinity are complemented by a mouth-filling texture.

Domaine Huchet
Jérémie Huchet took over the running of the family domaine from his father in November 2005 and both expanded it (to 60ha) and signed up to Terra Vitis sustainable viticultural practices. The domaine is based at Château-Thébaud and comprises a number of different vineyards; the latest to be brought in to the domaine, on long-term lease, is Château de la Templerie, in the commune of Château Thébaud itself. 2010 was his first vintage here. The soils are granitic, with coarse sands, and well drained, producing wines that are expressive early. Since taking on the property, no chemical fertilisers or herbicides have been used.
