The Tastings Teams are thrilled to be able to offer a limited number of tasting packs to explore a range of back-vintages, communes and producers – all from our own special keeping cellar.

Tim Sykes will be presenting the six wines from the tasting packs which will include a side-by-side of two wines of the 2007 vintage, namely Château Petit-Village of Pomerol on the right bank alongside Château Palmer of Margaux on the left-bank, both merlot-dominant in 2007 but on very different terroir.

This will be followed by a tasting of the Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac 2008 and Château Beychevelle, Saint Julien, 2009 – two left-bank treasures that consistently out-perform their classifications of 5th and 4th growth respectively.

And lastly, a side-by-side comparison of Annonce de Bélair-Monange and the Grand Vin Château Bélair-Monange from the famous Moueix family estate in St Emilion and the superb 2015 vintage.

This is the ideal evening for any French wine fans, and particularly Bordeaux lovers.

Unfortunately the tasting packs are now sold out, however if you still want to join in and listen to Tim discuss the wines for free then regsiter now.

Tim Sykes

Tim Sykes has worked at The Society since 2012 and is responsible for buying Bordeaux, Beaujolais and Sherry. Tim blends both The Society’s Claret and The Society’s White Burgundy, two of our best-selling wines.

Tasting our wines online is an exciting proposition for The Wine Society. For these events, we encourage members to buy the wines specified, sometimes this may be one or two bottles and other times it might be a tasting samples pack or mixed case created for the event. To get the most out of these events, we do suggest correlating the wines as closely as possible to our chosen list as these are the wines that will be explained and explored by our knowledgeable team.
