Online - Ribera del Duero: The Taste of the Duero
Join us online for an exploration of Ribera del Duero, one of Spain’s most distinctive and exciting wine regions. A specially curated tasting kit, generously supported by the DO, brings together a fascinating selection of wines to explore the region’s character, diversity and extraordinary affinity with Tempranillo.
Ribera del Duero is a land of extremes: high-altitude vineyards, long, hot days, cold nights and a dramatic continental climate that gives its wines their distinctive combination of power, freshness and structure. At its heart is Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto Fino, but there’s far more to the region than a single grape.
Join us online as we explore the wines and stories of Ribera del Duero, travelling through its vineyards and discovering the different expressions of this remarkable region. We’ll look at the influence of altitude, climate, soils and winemaking, and taste our way through a specially selected line-up designed to showcase the breadth and character of Ribera del Duero today.
To accompany the event, we’ve created a dedicated tasting kit featuring a selection of wines chosen especially for the occasion. Thanks to generous support from the Ribera del Duero DO, we’re able to offer the kit at an exceptionally attractive price, making this a wonderful opportunity to explore the region in depth without breaking the bank.
So, settle in, pour yourself a glass and join us for an evening of Spanish discovery - from the rugged landscapes of the Duero to the wines in your glass.
Tasting our wines online is an exciting proposition for The Wine Society. For these events, we encourage members to buy the wines specified, sometimes this may be one or two bottles and other times it might be a tasting samples pack or mixed case created for the event. To get the most out of these events, we do suggest correlating the wines as closely as possible to our chosen list as these are the wines that will be explained and explored by our knowledgeable team.
