Online - the communes of Barolo with tasting kit
If Barolo is arguably the crown of Italian wine, then its 11 communes are the crown jewels. Join The Society’s buyer for Italy Sarah Knowles MW for a virtual tour of six of these, comparing and contrasting the styles of the communes and how topography, microclimate and winemaking can make a difference.
The tasting kit to accompany the event has sold out but, should you wish to join us, you may want to purchasing a bottle or two from the list of available wines below.
At The Wine Society we’re proud of the range of fine wines we offer, and our Barolo selection is very fine. Buyer Sarah Knowles MW and event manager Ewan Murray have selected six wines from the 2018 vintage, each from a different Barolo commune that display the quirks and nuances that each give to the nebbiolo grape.

Tasting our wines online is an exciting proposition for The Wine Society. For these events, we encourage members to buy the wines specified, sometimes this may be one or two bottles and other times it might be a tasting samples pack or mixed case created for the event. To get the most out of these events, we do suggest correlating the wines as closely as possible to our chosen list as these are the wines that will be explained and explored by our knowledgeable team.
