Touriga nacional is a native Portuguese grape which is arguably one of the country's very finest. Examples from the Dão region tend to be medium bodied, plush and have a lovely lifted, almost floral perfume. The higher altitude of the region and the protection from the mountain ranges that surround it, are perfect for a more elegant example of touriga nacional. This is a great value taste of the variety, which is smooth, attractive, unoaked and full of charm.
