Red Wine from England - Essex
Danbury Ridge are champions of Essex's Crouch Valley and arguably England's finest producer of premium still wine, and their pinot noir is both exceptional and unique. Due to the warmness of the site and the clay-based soils of the area the wine is naturally much richer than one may expect from and English pinot noir. Combined with use of new French oak in the cellar, this Essex pinot has aromas of ripe cherry and fresh strawberries alongside notes of five spice and nutmeg. The palate is concentrated but still elegant and fruit-forward in youth, with fine tannins.
