Premier Cru Pouilly-Fuissé Case

A top example of the appellation. From the vineyard named Pouilly, in the commune of Pouilly, and planted on marnes soils in a true Clos, this has power, but also poise and a certain freshness and elegance. Fermented then matured for 11 months 228-litre barrels.

This comes from the limestone plateau right next to the château, close to winemaker Frédéric`s heart. The land is relatively flat, but the limestone soil works like a sponge, retaining an ideal amount of water and draining away any excess. It lends an appealing freshness, energy and mineral core to the ripe fruit. It`s a distinctive wine quite different to the opulent wines from clay soils in the Fuissé. Fermented and then matured for about 11 months in 228-litre barrels.
