Quinta da Pedra Alta 'Alta No. 10' 10 Year Old Tawny Port
Port from Portugal - Douro Valley
A refreshing and delicious tawny combining generous flavour with lightness of touch and fruit-forward charm. Aromas of cherries, dried fig, toffee and caramel unfold on the nose, while the palate is soft, velvety and lifted by vibrant crunchy freshness. The richness is beautifully reined in, allowing notes of roasted nuts, orange peel and spice to glide across the palate. Made from tinta roriz, tinta barroca, touriga nacional and touriga franca, foot-trodden in granite lagars and matured in old casks (including parcels that have been maturing for over 40 years) the estate’s first ten-year-old sets the bar high. A brilliant alternative aperitif, this is best served well chilled straight from the fridge and deserves a place alongside fino and vermouth. Lovely on its own, come rain or shine, it’s delicious with walnut and feta focaccia, blue cheese or wild boar pâté.
