Quinta de la Rosa Rosé, Douro 2025
Rose Wine from Portugal - Douro Valley
Made predominantly from tinta roriz with a dash of touriga nacional, this is a pale, Provence-hued rosé that delivers far more than just good looks. The nose is pretty and inviting, showing peach, apricot and lemon peel, with a delicate raspberry sorbet lift. On the palate it’s light and silky but with real mid-palate presence, combining juicy strawberries-and-cream fruit with a gently herbal and floral edge. There’s ripe generosity at the core, yet bright acidity keeps everything fresh and mouthwatering, finishing with a subtle lick of spice. Quinta de la Rosa is one of the Douro’s most respected estates and this is a vivid reminder that grapes best known for powerful, ageworthy Ports can also shine in beautifully fresh, expressive dry wines. A huge hit as our Bin Series Douro Rosé last year, it fully deserves its return under the estate’s own label. A good partner for barbecued seafood and fish like king prawns with peri peri sauce or plump juicy sardines.
