This is a paradoxical wine like its name, Courtelongs, which is an oxymoron. Today it is Saumaize's best wine.

Jacques Saumaize, Saint-Véran Cras 2024
A ripe yet fresh white Burgundy from limestone soil (cras is a derivation of crai meaning limestone or chalk). Saumaize practise low yields and the house style is characterised by bright wines with floral aromas and appley palates.
Jacques Saumaize, Saint-Véran La Vieille Vigne 2024
Two vineyards are assembled in this wine, the cooler and higher En Creches vineyard, which contributes freshness, grip and length, and the warmer Côte Rotie vineyard which is riper and fuller and fills out the mid-palate.
