Sínodo Garnacha-Graciano, Rioja 2023
An elegant, serious yet modern Rioja from relative newcomer Bodegas Sínodo, founded by three friends who met at university and set out to make site-specific wines with a clear sense of place. Sourced from high altitude plots in the warmer Rioja Oriental, where old-vine garnacha (70% of the blend) and graciano (30%) thrive. A third of the wine rests in flexitanks, preserving primary fruit character while the remainder sees a combination of large French and American oak ageing where it rests for 11 months. The result is a Rioja with depth and lift, offering ripe, juicy forest fruit, subtle herbal and tea notes, and a long, smooth finish. Drink from 2026 to 2032. 14.5%
