Wines included
The Society’s Bordeaux Sauvignon 2020
Fresh and aromatic, this is pure Bordeaux sauvignon made without the use of oak in a crisp and fruity modern style that allows its fresh aromatic fruit to shine.
The Society's Chilean Limarí Sauvignon Blanc 2020
This is a crisp Chilean sauvignon blanc with blackcurrant-leaf aromas and a refreshing palate, produced by Tabalí from cool vineyards in Limarí.
The Society's Côtes de Gascogne 2020
Noticeably drier in this vintage, this is fragrant, light and refreshing with a hint of citrus on the palate, and light enough to be enjoyed on its own.
The Society's Falanghina 2020
Falanghina is one of Italy's many native grape varieties that we feel shouldn't be left under the radar! With tangy clementine and peach flavours, this is a lovely crisp, dry and expressive wine to add to your selection.
The Society's Grüner Veltliner 2020
Succulent pear and white-pepper aromas, nectarine and refreshing spritz on the palate make this a benchmark of Austria’s signature grape, from the historic Stadt Krems winery.
The Society's Hunter Valley Semillon 2021
A brilliant example of one of Australia's greatest and most unique wine styles, made for us by Brokenwood. Lemon-and-lime driven and intensely refreshing, this is a real Aussie classic.
The Society's Sicilian Organic White 2020
This is a new wine to our Society range, but from a family producer we have worked with for a number of years. The Vescos' passion is rooted in their organically tended vineyards many of which overlook the sea in western Sicily. This fresh, peach, chalk and salted-lemon scented white is a blend of 80% grillo and 20% carricante.
The Society's Vinho Verde 2020
This is a classic example of this light and easy-drinking style from northern Portugal, with delicate spritz and bright, fresh palate.
The Society's White Burgundy 2020
Ripe and round yet with a broad, appley palate and fresh finish. For good reason this white Burgundy is consistently our bestselling wine. Its ongoing quality reflects the deep involvement in its selection by successive buyers and the skill of our ‘man on the ground’, Jean-Marc Darbon, who excels in sourcing the right blending options for us to work with.
The Society's White Rioja 2019
A classically styled white Rioja made from the region's classic white grapes (mostly viura with some malvasia), with a proportion aged in barrel. It is lemony gold in colour with aromas that are spicy and nutty, rather than fruity.
The Society's Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie 2019
Ripe and refreshing Muscadet from Chéreau-Carré in the western Loire valley, this is the ideal accompaniment to shellfish, delicious on its own, but good too with chicken, charcuterie and much more.
The Society’s Vin d’Alsace 2019
An excellent introduction to the wines of this most beautiful region of France. Rather than being made from a single grape variety, like most Alsatian wines, this is a blend, which varies a little with each vintage but always includes Alsace’s noble grapes: riesling, gewurztraminer, pinot gris, muscat and sylvaner. The style is dry, yet full flavoured and fruity, with a touch of spice.
