Wines included
Individo Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Vartely 2022
From a top producer in Moldova, this Bordeaux blend is full bodied, juicy and full of flavour. Bramble fruits and spice combine with present and ripe tannins. Perfect anyday-drinking wine that pairs well with red meat, pasta and pizza.
The Society's Chilean Pinot Noir, Leyda 2024
‘For an under-£10 pinot noir, what else are you looking for?’ Our Wine Champions tasters voted it a winner, singling out the ‘juiciness’ and ‘honesty’ of this ocean-cooled Chilean charmer, which is now being made in a fresher, earlier-picked style, emphasising its bright, pure red fruit. Undurraga’s work in making themselves as sustainable as possible has made it easy for us to name them one of our Wine Society Pioneers. They are Wines of Chile Sustainability certified and an International Wineries for Clime Change Gold member – one of only 9 wineries in the world with that status. Their facilities use solar energy, the measure their carbon footprint with the aim of reducing emissions wherever possible, use lightweight bottles use only drip irrigation for efficient and targeted water use that goes hand in hand with reusing water in the winery too. They preserve biological corridors and native vegetation, protect local wildlife, have deployed an integrated pest management system and promote a balanced eco system. Ineed, it would be quicker to tell you about what they don’t do!
Familie Mantler Gemischter Satz, Niederösterreich 2025
We know what you drank last summer… and it’s back! And it's a 2026 Wine Champion to boot. The new vintage of this barnstormingly popular, delicately spritzy Austrian white has won our buyers' blind tasting yet again. With its ‘refreshing, sparky acidity’, ‘exuberant, vibrant fruit’ and low alcohol, it’s an absolute peach of a wine.
The Society's Chilean Limarí Chardonnay 2024
If you only try one chardonnay from 2026’s abundant crop of Wine Champs winners, this bowled us over for its quality-price ratio. Its ‘limey nose’, ‘lovely herby style’ and ‘round, creamy’ palate were even better on retasting, so don’t be afraid to decant it.
Duo Des Mers Sauvignon-Viognier, Vin de France 2025
Fragrant, fruity, full-flavoured southern French white, the happy marriage of two worlds with crisp sauvignon coming from Gascony and full-bodied, peachy viognier coming from Languedoc.
Picpoul de Pinet, Domaine Félines Jourdan 2025
One of the best-value whites from the south of France, full-flavoured and dry yet with crisp freshness and a beguiling citrus and herb flavour. An ideal partner for white fish and seafood.
Cuvée Laborie Rouge, Pays d'Oc 2025
A classic Languedoc blend of carignan and grenache, with a splash of merlot adding suppleness. Brilliant value southern French red delivering fresh, uncomplicated fruit and soft tannins.
Bando de Corvos ‘Murder of Crows’ Tinto, Lisboa 2024
This wine is sourced from vineyards close to the city of Lisbon and is a blend of native Portuguese grapes, touriga nacional, castelao and trincadeira. They come together to create a generous, medium- to full-bodied wine full of Portuguese charm. Juicy aromas of damsons, plums, black pepper and a mellow earthiness on the nose lead to a generous, fruit-driven but mellow palate. Perfect with beef stews and dishes with earthy flavours, or just on its own. A charming, easy-going and inexpensive bottle which demonstrates authentic Portuguese charm. Thanks to the generosity of our suppliers we're delighted to be able to offer this wine with a £12 per dozen saving until 16th November 2026.
The Society's French Viognier 2025
Viognier thrives in its home of the Rhône Valley and this crisp, fresh and floral white has been made exclusively for us by Maison Les . Alexandrins who are based in the heart of the northern Rhône. From high-altitude vineyards in the Ardèche, expect honeysuckle, ginger and fresh apricot notes combined with a fleshy palate. This white works well with mild curries and roast chicken.
Costières de Nîmes La Ciboise, Chapoutier 2025
From a stony plateau to the south of the Roman city of Nîmes comes this exuberantly fruity grenache-syrah blend, offering lots of energy and crunchy fruit combined with spice and liquorice. 2025 was a juicy and accessible vintage. A perfect anyday drinking red.
Domaine Mallory et Benjamin Talmard, Mâcon-Villages 2025
Plump and generous, this is a great example of the full-flavoured, round and fruity style of Mâcon-Villages from the warm south region of Burgundy.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Gran Sasso 2025
Packed with bright, juicy brambly fruit, red cherry and plum, with savoury spice notes bringing complexity, this Italian red is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Plush and generous with montepulciano's signature freshness to balance the sweet ripe-fruit character.
