Tasting Kit White Burgundy Classics 6x100ml
Wines included
Sylvain Pataille, Marsannay Blanc 2021
A lovely balanced wine from a star of a producer, mingling scents of apples and white peaches. the palate has ripe fruit but with a certain firmness and tension.
Olivier Leflaive, Auxey-Duresses 2021
This is made principally from three superbly situated vineyards which lie on or very close to the border with Meursault (La Macabré, Les Autés and Les Vireux). These vineyards are north-east facing so have maintained an impressive freshness despite there being just a third of a normal crop here. Intense appley aromas and fresh citrus scented palate rounded out and enriched from maturation on its lees in barrel. 100% was barrel fermented and 15% of the barrels were new.
Château de Beauregard, Saint-Véran En Faux 2023
From the top of the slope at Chasselas, a sunny vineyard producing wines with ripe red-peach flavours and aromas. 75% is fermented in barrels with 25% in tank to maintain some freshness. En Faux is near the Mont de Pouilly at about 400m, where it is quite cool, but much sunnier than Vernay, with a south-westerly orientation. It ripens well but keeps some freshness to counterbalance the maturity.
Famille Cordier, Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru Vignes Blanches 2023
From 0.9ha plot of vines of which one third are 80 years old, one third 60 years-old and one third 40 years old, situated in the warm amphitheatre of Fuissé, this is an opulent wine, dense rich and concentrated yet beautifully balanced.
Domaine William Fèvre, Chablis Premier Cru Vaulorent 2017
The closest of all the Chablis premiers crus to the depth and power of the grands crus. A firm and concentrated wine of excellent quality.
Olivier Leflaive, Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères 2021
Enseignères is a very well-placed vineyard, situated just below grand cru Bâtard-Montrachet. This comes from a one-hectare parcel managed by Olivier Leflaive. Fine, fresh and floral and with a long, elegant, linear finish. 20% new oak.
