The Christmas Day Case
Wines included
Champagne Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV
‘So nervy and linear – I loved it!’ The current shipment from what Sir Winston Churchill memorably described as ‘the world`s most drinkable address’ is especially ‘whistle-clean and elegant’, and our Wine Champions panel awarded it very high scores this year. A joy. We offer a case saving on all our non-vintage Champagnes. Buy a case of six bottles and get 10% off. This saving is included in the case price below.
The Society's Exhibition Vintage Port 2011
'Absolutely singing' now, this Port from Symington Family Estates, put together exclusively for members, comes from a great vintage and our Wine Champions tasters voted it a 2025 winner. ‘Robust and rich’ with ‘lovely texture’, its rose-petal aromas and concentrated, structured palate proved irresistible in our tasting. Your cheeseboard deserves it!
The Society's Exhibition Gigondas 2019
Château Saint Cosme’s Louis Barruol is one of the most well-known winemakers in Gigondas, instrumental in putting this region on the map. Our longstanding relationship with this star grower has led to us having access to some of the most interesting vineyard sites in Gigondas, creating this exclusive blend with him. 2019 is a superb vintage in this part of the Rhône. Every year the aim is to make a wine that offers great value but which also has the ability to age. It is fantastic to be able to keep hold of our wines and release them when they’re ready to drink, with the 2019 being offered to our members now with seven years’ ageing under its belt.
The Society's Exhibition Margaux 2019
Made by Second Growth Brane-Cantenac, this is a beautifully fresh, plushly textured claret with notes of dark fruits and chocolate. The wine displays all the hallmarks of fine, perfumed Margaux.
Domaine de Bellene, Saint-Romain Vieilles Vignes 2020
An excellent year for this cool vineyard at a high altitude of 376m, which offset the heat and allowed the grapes to ripen well. Made from 1.8ha of vines planted in 1963, this has fresh, appley aromas and a bright, taut palate.
Sancerre ‘La Reine Blanche’, Domaine Vacheron 2025
Gorgeously ripe and characterful Sancerre from one of the finest producers in the appellation. Blackcurrant leaf, quince, peach, alongside distinct minerality to compliment the richness makes this both approachable yet serious. The Society has been shipping Sancerre from the Vacheron family since the 1962 vintage, because of their consistent excellence.
