The Society's Hazy IPA 5.5% 440ml
We’re offering this refreshing and full-flavoured, unfiltered Society’ Hazy IPA at a remarkable price. The quality of the beer is excellent, but the circumstance of it reaching us is convoluted. Wildcard Brewery, made it for us just before going into administration and before delivery, forcing us to seek another brewery, Black Isle, who stepped into the breach with aplomb to the extent that they'll be brewing our own-label IPA from now on. The twist is that the assets of the defunct Wildcard were then acquired by 40ft Brewery who, on moving in, found a pallet of our original order all labelled up and ready to go. They offered it to us at a greatly reduced price and we snapped it up! And here it is, a one-off parcel of excellent-value beer in tip-top form.

Wild Card Brewery
The founders of North London’s Wild Card Brewery will tell you that their business was a hobby that got out of hand, funded by a personal credit card. It is a hint of the can do attitude of all involved that underpins this Walthamstow-based business and has made them the success they have become.
William John Harris and Andrew Birkby are from Nottingham and have been friends since their schooldays. Both had a passion for great beer and a desire to make it themselves. Teaming up with chemical engineering graduate, professional session singer and fellow ex- Nottingham resident Jaege Wise they began their brewing adventures as ‘gypsies’, that is to say brewers who borrowed space in other breweries to make their ales.
When this nomadic state of affairs proved successful they sought out their current premises in Walthamstow and set themselves up in January 2014. They now employ 16 people, open as a bar every weekend and run a quarterly beer festival that draws ale lovers from far and wide. They are passionate believers in working with other local business to make a positive contribution to their local community. Wild Card sell their beers in keg, cask and bottle, with the bottled beers being fined with carrageen moss from Ireland, which is a boon to vegetarians.
