Three Vintage Clarets
Wines included
Château Cap L'Ousteau, Haut-Médoc 2016
This very appealing, well-balanced claret comes from vines in the Lamarque commune in Bordeaux, between Margaux and Saint-Julien. The wine is a blend of 60% merlot. 24% cabernet sauvignon and 16% petit verdot and displays the hallmark balance and freshness of the 2016 vintage at a keen price.
Château de la Grave ‘Caractère', Côtes de Bourg 2018
One of our members' favourite clarets, Château de la Grave’s plump berry-fruited 2018 won Wine Championship plaudits for its scented perfume, ripe generous palate and savoury notes on the finish. A lovely vintage from the Bassereau family.
Château Vircoulon, Bordeaux 2018
Vircoulon is a well-respected, family-owned property with vineyards neighbouring Castillon on Bordeaux's right bank. It is a full-bodied and muscular claret which is best enjoyed with hearty winter stews and roasts.
